The African Energy Commission (AFREC) through its African Energy Information System (AEIS) and capacity building programs has been supporting the Energy Statisticians from the AU Member States to address issues related to data collection, analysis and dissemination. Over the past years, many programs have been elaborated and conducted including the capacity building on data collection on Energy Balance and Energy Efficiency for Residential Sector, Training of Trainers Program, Support to AU MS to establish their National Energy Information Systems and the NDC Support Center. However, despite the different programs put in place to address the Africa Energy data challenges, the expected outcomes on energy statistics are still yet to be achieved for some countries. Hence, to tackle the said concerns, AFREC plans to organize on job Regional Trainings on Energy Balance Questionnaire. The main objectives of the on job Regional Trainings on the new AEIS's tools (English Session), are: (i) to train the National Focal Points and Coordinators on the Energy Balance Questionnaire and (ii) to agree on the new timelines for the transmission of the data for the Energy Balance Questionnaire.
