Capacity Building on Eco-Efficient Power Transformer

A half-day tailored remote Capacity Building Training Sessions on Energy Efficient and Eco-Designed Power Distribution Transformers for the member countries of the ECREEE region, in order to introduce the Integrated Policy Approach of United for Efficiency to catalyse and orient the work already done in the region and to extend the results to energy efficient Digital Power Transformers.

Energy Transition dialogue

AFREC supports the collaboration between the European Union (EU) and the African Union (AU) through the Infrastructure and Energy Department of the African Union Commission (AUC) with the aim of working on building blocs for setting up a Harmonised African Electricity Market. Meeting was held to Addis-Ababa on 2-4 October 2019.

Launch of National Determinant Contributions Support Centre in Morocco

The African Energy Commission (AFREC) in collaboration with the Flemish Institute for Technological Research (VITO) hosted virtual kick-off meetings to launch the activities of the NDC Support Centre in Morocco and improve reporting of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC). The NDC Support Center project is an initiative of AFREC and VITO which has already been launched in Malawi and Uganda in May and June 2021. Morocco is the third country to benefit from this pilot initiative, and more African countries are expected to benefit in the future.
