The Energy Facility is a co-financing instrument which was established in 2005 in order to support projects on increasing access to sustainable and affordable energy services for the poor living in rural and peri-urban areas in African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries. Its objectives are set by the EU development agenda.
To increase and improve access to modern, affordable and sustainable energy services for rural and peri-urban poor by focusing on renewable energy solutions as well as on energy efficiency measures
Provides grants for investments for provision of modern energy services for the rural poor of the targeted countries, including fragile states.
