Comprehensive Capacity Building Programme for the African Energy Sector

The African Energy Commission (AFREC), as the African Union’s specialised energy agency, has developed a Comprehensive Capacity Building Programme to address critical skills and knowledge gaps in Africa’s energy sector. Based on continent-wide assessments, surveys, and expert analysis, the Programme identifies priority areas such as energy efficiency, renewable integration, regulatory frameworks, financing, and electricity infrastructure.

Framework for Cross-Border Strategic Cooperation in Skills Sharing in African Energy Sector

The African energy sector is transforming rapidly but continues to face significant skills and capacity gaps that limit collaboration and sustainable growth. To bridge these disparities, the African Energy Commission (AFREC) has developed a strategic framework for cross-border cooperation in knowledge and expertise exchange.

Integrated Smart Energy

Based on the new generation of information technologies such as "cloud, big data, Internet of Things, mobile and intelligence(smartness), "power system, as the Center, can be closely coupled with natural gas network, heating network, industrial, transportation and building systems, for horizontal "complementation of diversity sources" of electricity, gas, heat and renewable energy, and vertical high synergy of "energy, power grid, load and storage" to form an energy service network (service) of two-way interactive concentration and distribution of production and consumption for clean, low-c

Solar PV-Energy Storage Empirical Test Platform

The instruments, methods, and precision required for on-line operation inspection and measurement and performance evaluation methods, equipment layout schemes required for the actual operation of the key equipment of large-scale grid-connected photovoltaic power generation system are still under research. The methods for data comparison analysis and performance evaluation on actual operation are restricted, resulting in it impossible to carry out scientific and effective evaluation on existing photovoltaic power stations.
