agenda2063 for Energy in Africa

Yet wind turbines are a rare sight in Africa, a continent with enormous energy needs and significant wind potential.

National, RECs & Power Pools Development

AFREC works with all African Countries Member States to advance the transformation of the energy sector for Africa, by implementing the African energy transition programme. This is done by working together with regional energy bodies such as Regional Economic Communities (RECs), PowerPools as well as International Development partners.

Priorities for energy development for AFREC are those of addressing energy challenges as outlined in the countries National Priority Plans (NPP). Key of those are outlined in AFREC strategy, which outline programmes for implementation for the continent to drive the integration and sustainable development of the African Energy sector.
