The chargé d’affaire Mr. Murtala Jimoh pays a courtesy visit to AFREC
Today, Mr. Murtala Jimoh Nigeria’s chargé d'affaire to Algeria paid a courtesy visit at the African Energy Commission offices in Hydra, Algiers. He emphasised Nigerians interest to work with AFREC, more especially that Nigeria is a strong member of the AU, the Energy, oil, Gas sector in Africa. He said Energy plays a big role in the welfare of the people and development in Nigeria. Hence, it is important for AFREC and the Nigerian government through the Nigeria Energy Commission to find ways to collaborate and coordinate energy programs for the government and stakeholders. He also mentioned that he hope to see AFRECs collaboration in areas of information sharing, Research and technical assistance. Mr. Rashid Ali Abdallah, AFREC’s Executive Director informed Mr. Jimoh that AFREC has been established to serve all African countries on the continent, and its committed to support countries to build their own Energy Information System. Nigeria especially, plays a pivotal role in energy, oil and Gas development for Africa. He indicated that all African countries are faced with challenges to collect data. Hence, it is important to develop and establish an African energy market including oil and Gas, which will improve the lives and quality of of the African people.
